  • It helps to remember that I chose the experiences that I am going through and that I can use my difficulties to bless others.. I have suffered from depression on and off since I was a child. I often have felt that I was alone and that no one understood what I was going through. I also have been embarrassed to admit how I am feeling because I am ashamed for feeling this way when I have so many blessings already! Your book came at the right time for me and I know that it has helped so many people and will continue to help many, many people. F.G.

  • Patricia,
I wanted you to know that my purse was stolen the other day while I was at the DI. I had the first aid for feelings in my purse but I took it out to look up some stuff a couple of days ago and left it in the center of the van. After I realized what happened and I had looked franticly for it, I went out to the van and just wanted to scream. Instead I saw your book and picked it up. I just started to flip through it and read for about 20 minutes in the parking lot. Then I started to think of all the good things that had happened. I won't bore you with the details but I had been prompted not to put some very valuable things in my purse and left them in the car or in my back pocket. I also had all my credit card numbers in my cell phone (which was also in my pocket) and was able to call and get the cards canceled right away. The only thing I was out was 20 bucks and some loose change (and the cost of getting my license remade). The peace that came over me was incredible and I know your book had something to do with it. If I hadn't read then I wouldn't have been able to clear my head and take the actions that I did. Thank you so much. Becka
P.S. The person who took my person ended up returning it to the D.I. right before closing. Everything was still inside and intact. I don't know if they felt bad or if they took it on accident but I know I am very blessed.

  • I admire you for your attitude about life. You are so happy and always wearing a smile... I thought you should know, last month I was very suicidal. I have been seeing a psychiatrist ever since. She has been helping, but not as much as seeing you. You have been a great example to me. I will always remember I can be happy no matter what comes my way and I'll remember who taught me.
  • Wonderful! I appreciate the personal stories and honesty. You portrayed hope and perspective and I am happy to hear how it relates to us as members of the church. Thanks!!
